Online Orientation and Virtual Events

Start Your Online Orientation

All new students are required to complete online orientation by August 14, 2025. These interactive video modules will equip you with the tools for a successful first semester at Loyola.

Information on how to log into Single Sign On and complete the orientation modules will be sent to your Loyola email account. Once you receive your Single Sign On credentials, you can complete the online orientation modules.

The modules do not have to be completed in one session—students can stop and go throughout the orientation. The modules should not take more than three hours total to complete. Students who fail to complete their orientation modules by the deadline will have a registration hold on their account and will not be able to register for spring courses.

Here’s a look at the topics you will cover during orientation:

  • Safety and Security in the Big Easy
  • Student Living and Dining services
  • Student health and counseling
  • Loyola Technology
  • Introduction to Academic Life
  • Introduction to your College
  • Student Life and Ministry

Parents and caregivers are also encouraged to review the orientation modules, as they provide a wealth of information.

Virtual Events Over the Summer

We host an array of fun and informative virtual events over the summer to help you connect with the many resources available to support your transition to college life. These events are optional, but we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to engage with our community! Parents and caregivers can get involved in many of the virtual events as well. Check out our parent resource page to learn more.

Starting in May, incoming students will be placed into orientation groups called "Krewes," which are led by our orientation leaders called "Krewe Leaders." Krewe leaders send out weekly communications guiding you through the important action items you'll need to complete to prepare for your arrival at Loyola in August.

From June 2–6, 2025, Krewe Leaders will lead optional small-group virtual meetings known as Krewe Chats where new students will meet fellow new members of the Wolf Pack, get questions answered, and gain valuable information on how to successfully transition to the university.

Krewe Leaders will host another Krewe Chat the week of July 21, 2025, to answer any last-minute questions from first-year students. KLs will answer questions about Wolf Pack Welcome, Welcome Week, or the university. There will be a chat function enabled.

If you haven’t heard from your Krewe Leader yet or have questions about these events, please contact Assistant Director of Student Life Tia Teamer at tateame2@loyno.edu or 504.865.3622.

Join us for a live Meet the Dean town hall event held via Zoom. Department leaders will share some of the unique benefits of the academic college associated with your chosen major.
