Arriving on Campus

We’re excited to welcome you in August! To help you prepare, Residential Life will email move-in information to your my.loyno.edu address. Below are some important details.

Move-in Dates

• New Students: August 13-14
• Returning Students: August 16-17

Move-in Sign-ups

All students must sign up for a move-in time slot on their designated dates to speed up check-in. You'll receive sign-up links and more details in your assignment email and throughout the summer.

Pre-Campus Arrival Checklist

Complete these tasks by August 1st to use the pre-approved move-in process:

• Immunization Records: Update with Student Health Services.
• Hurricane Evacuation Plan: Submit in The Housing Director to inform us of your plans in case of severe weather.
• Course Registration: Ensure you're enrolled full-time. If not, the Residential Life staff will contact you, and your housing and meal plan might be canceled.
• Financial Account: Clear your financial account or set up a payment plan with Student Financial Services. Contact them at sfscenter@loyno.edu or 504-865-3337 for questions.

Canceling your Housing Assignment: If needed, complete the 2024-2025 Housing Cancellation Application in The Housing Director.

Arriving to Campus

Follow this route to campus:

1. From S Claiborne Ave, turn onto Broadway St towards St. Charles Avenue.
2. After 0.9 miles, turn left onto Freret St.
3. After 0.4 miles, turn right into the road next to the parking garage. Check your move-in email for specific check-in locations.

Unloading your Car

Each resident has one hour to unload on the first floor of the parking garage. Please focus on unloading during this time and avoid decorating or unpacking in your room until your car is empty.

Instructions for unloading:

• Park on the first floor of the West Garage.
• Blue bins are available in the Residential Quad on a first-come, first-served basis. Bring your own moving equipment if possible.
• Use elevators during your designated time slot.
• After unloading, return any borrowed bins and move your car to the upper floors of the garage.

Elevator Use

During your time slot, use the elevator only to go up, unless you have a physical need. After your slot ends, use the stairs unless physically necessary.

• Wait for the elevator at lines
• One family at a time in the elevator to prevent overloading the elevator
• After 5 p.m., elevators are open for bringing in more items – please follow capacity limits

Room Condition Reports 

Within 48 hours of checking in, complete the Room Condition Report in The Housing Director by clicking “more” and then “Room Condition Report.” Submit it once finished; you can’t make changes later. You may be held responsible for any damages not listed.
