Jacob DeRusha

Bio

Jacob serves as the University Minister for Social Justice and Immersions. He was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico until he moved to New Orleans where he received his undergraduate degree from Loyola in Music Industry Studies and Catholic Studies. He received an M.A. from Boston College in Theology and Ministry, focusing his thesis on postcolonial thought.

Jacob has served at various non-profit social justice organizations including but not limited to City Mission Boston, Rostro de Cristo, Simply Smiles, and Catholic Climate Covenant. His passion is helping students discover the intersections of various social justice issues and the importance of a solid spirituality of justice.
